Renae L. Ward, PA-C
Renae graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in health science. She them entered the Butler University Physician Assistant program in the late fall of 2003. After graduating in 2006, Renae was accepted into the Norwalk Hospital/Yale University School of Medicine Physician Assistant Surgical Residency Program. It was actually her experiences with bariatric patients during her year as a surgical resident that led to her position on St. Vincent’s bariatric surgical team. Renae’s role with Bariatric Surgery patients is multi-faced. She assists the surgeons in the operating room and cares for and monitors patients during their in patient stay at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. In addition to her hospital duties, Renae also sees patients in the out patient setting. Seeing patients pre-operatively, performing lap-band adjustments, interpreting tests, and responding to patient problems are just some of Renae’s outpatient duties.
